How to spot
a real one
- 1
The loop collar
A tiny loop at the throat, so it buttons up for church and opens up for everything after.
- 2
Coconut buttons
Cut from real shell, every one a little different. Tap one on a table: plastic clicks, coconut thuds.
- 3
A matched pocket
The print runs straight across the pocket like it isn't there. It costs extra fabric and patience, so cheap shirts skip it.
- 4
Rayon drape
Old rayon hangs heavy and moves like water. Hold it up to a window: the colours should glow, not shine.
The Shore
Every shirt on the rack has been to the beach at least once.
